What a lovely game. Defender’s Quest is typical Tower Defence stuff, but it’s intertwined with an engaging story which drives things forward at a cracking pace. Rather than placing towers, you control a persistent squad of adventurers who upgrade their abilities in typical RPG style. It’s a trick which sucks you in and makes you care about your tiny little defenders. Despite some clever maps, it can be a little too easy to keep re-using the same old winning strategies, and you can also expect some mid-game grind as you level up for the conclusion. In the end, though, the early and late parts of the game make it worth the effort. 3.5/5
